The lift is located about 2 km from the bus station in Sopot. Be sure to take warm clothes, because even if it is 40 degrees in Banya, it may be 10 in the Balkan. On the way to the lift you will see Grandpa Stoyan's mill, described in the book “Under the Yoke”. Next to the lift is also the convent, which you can also visit.

The lift is now private and it is good to check its working hours in advance. At 9 - 9:30 in the morning, when the staff goes up, it is the safest. Dobriila hut is 2 hours away. On the way to it the nature is unique. Overnight stay in “Dobrila” is 8.00 BGN. Private bungalow – 40 BGN.

The house where Ivan Vazov was born. The writer's birth house is located in the central part of the town, on “Ivan Vazov” Square. The actual house was destroyed in the years before the Liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish rule and reconstructed in 1932.

During your visit to Sopot you can see the monument “Presentation of the Holy Virgin Mary”, erected on the square bearing the same name. Other interesting sites are the “St. Spas” monastery, the church “St. Apostles Peter and Paul”, Grandpa Stoyan's mill described in “Under the Yoke”, and others. Near the town of Sopot are the ruins of Anevsko Kale — a Bulgarian fortress from the 12th century. Sopot Kale is another fortress, located northeast of the town.
